The Old Country
Mom and Dad took a trip to Italy and were able to visit the village where my great-grandparents were from (my mom's paternal grandparents, the Antrosios.) With the help of some Italian speaking friends, they had contacted a distant cousin, Massimiliano, and he arranged for a reunion party!
Here's Auntie Carol with Mom and Dad over looking Ottiglio. They also visited Lucca, Florence, Assisi, Umbertide and Cinque Terra. They brought back for me a beautiful, hand painted tile tray and my favorite Piemontese hazelnut nougat candy!

She's Crafty
Time to do some updating in the abode.
First up, a project originated by my friend, Anne. I used some of her supplies and then made a trip to the local craft store for some fun velvet leaves, paper flowers, and tiny pearls and rhinestones and came up with this. I heart Paris.I also finally installed a little chandelier I found in Multnomah Village over the Summer. It took some effort finding the right kind of molly and drilling the right size hole all while being covered in a light shower of drywall dust. I know my dad would have gladly helped, but I had some weird determination to do it myself.
And then I bought new sheets which I am now in love with. I've tried higher thread count sheets which can be nice, but these trump them all. They are cotton jersey so it's just like being surrounded in an old, soft t-shirt. I highly recommend them!
