Brian and Xani's Wedding

Cousin Brian married Xani after 12 years together! They had a small wedding last Sunday, and then the rest of us joined them on Labor Day for their big reception. It was held on the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler. (click on photo to go to website)Since Mom and Dad were in Italy and sadly missed the event, Dawn and I decided to make it a Girl's Night Out. We drove to Hood River and stayed at the Columbia Gorge Hotel. Beautiful! It was built in 1921, and Presidents and film stars have stayed there. The fixtures are still old, but if you can appreciate the quaintness, it's worth visiting. And the breakfast is to die for! (click on photo to go to website)We drank champagne on the terrace of the Valentino Lounge (named after silent film star Rudolph Valentino) which had a stunning view of the Gorge. Then we went to the Sternwheeler to meet up with everyone for the reception.

Brian and Xani are sailing enthusiasts, and they arrived via sailboat. Classy entrance!Cousins: Jackie, Dawn, Davey, Brian, me and CraigCousin Debbi and Auntie-nette

We went for a cruise along the Gorge while having appetizers and cocktails. The weather was just perfect! Then we came back and docked for dinner. After some people left for an early night, we went back out on the river for dancing! Dawn was a good sport and danced with me. I dig dancing.
The first dance was Bee Gees "How Deep is Your Love." It seemed like everyone on the ship knew the words!
Auntie-nette danced all night! It was a really neat idea for a reception, and it turned out so well! Everyone had a great time. Really lovely.
